When I was in third grade, I announced my life's ambition -- I wanted to be a poet. After all, "Snow" was hanging on the classroom wall, even after an editorial dispute with my teacher. Later I realized the job market for poets was rather weak, but pursued an English degree anyway. So years went along, my professions and degrees changed, as I picked up a Masters in Information Science as I became an IT professional. However, my passion with literature and writing is consistent.
In 1997, a poem and short story were published in Shakti Kee Awaaz, an anthology published by a Canadian women's organization. In addition to my articles, poems and stories on Sulekha, I have published essays, book reviews and poems on various Internet sites (SAWNET, Desijournal, Monsoon Magazine). My poem "The Moon" appeared in "Sulekha Select".<<
